As the new year rolls along, I hope everyone has had a safe season and a busy fur shed. I would like to remind everybody to mark their calendar for our first annual, Montana Fur Harvesters rendezvous in Ronan Montana. The date is May 16-17, 2025. Located in beautiful northwest Montana about 1 hour north of Interstate 90, on HWY 93. This will be the first annual rendezvous and promises be as action packed or laid back as you want. We will have 2 full days of demos from some of the top names in trapping, hunting, and shooting. We are also planning on many demos from, trapping, mountain man life, to long range shooting and night hunting. We are also proud to announce that we are working with Montana State Houndsmen Association for demos. We are planning demos for the whole family, male and female, young and old. This is a family event. So, you can plan on attending one of the many demos that fit your fancy.
Plan on attending this historic rendezvous. We will have mountain man on site to relive the deep history on Montana mountain man. On Saturday we will have mountain man dress up day with prizes to be awarded to the best dressed mountain person. Help us celebrate 200 years of rich history. Please bring your outfit and have fun with the day. We will also have ax throwing and other mountain man contest to participate in.
Oh, did I mention that we will be hosting several of the people from the History Channel, Mountain Man Show. Montana’s own-Tom and Nancy Oar, Paul Antczak, and houndsman, Jake Herak. Coming all the way from Alaska, Bret and Ivy. Yes, this is a once in a lifetime event!!
We do have a few more surprises in our lineup. You’ll have to attend this event, or plan on your friends telling you missed one of the best events in 2025.
Spring is the time of year when mountain man rendezvous were held. Some of those rendezvous were held not far from this one. So that is why we are holding this event in the spring. We have a full lineup of vendors with supplies. You’ll be able to re-supply your shed and do it before the full heat of summer. On Thursday the15th we will be setting up the event. Thursday evening, we will have Q and A with open discussion. Friday the 16th the event will officially kick off. Breakfast at 6am. Demos start at 8am-noon. Lunch and then demos 1-5. Friday evening, we will have food and a guest speaker in the banquet room. Saturday is pretty much the same schedule with the exception to a banquet on Saturday evening.
We have food vendors, and on-site camping. Camping is on a first come bases. The site we choose is in the beautiful Flathead Valley and a full view of the Mission mountains. Nine- Pipes wildlife area is located 5 minutes south. Yes, if you sit by the camp and listen, you may just hear -John Colter of the Lewis and Clark expedition. Jim Bridger, Kit Carson or Jedediah Smith.
